Locations the world over will be holding special events to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2012.  Below is a listing of a few of them.  Check with your local municipality and civic groups for activities in your area – and get involved!

Earth Day On The National Mall - Washington, DC (USA)

April 22, 2012 12:00pm to 7:00 pm

The centerpiece of our country's Earth Day celebrations has always been the rally and other activities on the National Mall.  This year's attendees will get to hear top musical talent, hear presentations from prominent speakers and celebrities, see renewable energy demonstrations and take part in interactive exhibits.  www.earthday.org/event/earth-day-national-mall-0

Earth Day Cleanup At The National Zoo – Washington, DC  (USA)

April 22, 2012 8:00 am to 10:00 am

Participants will join zoo staff members in picking up litter and sorting it into recyclables and trash.  The Zoo’s Green Team will offer education about sustainability initiatives and other speakers will make presentations on what ordinary people can do to address global issues such as climate change.  Fun educational activities are also planned for the children. 

Earth Day At Fair Park – Dallas, TX (USA)

April 21 & 22, 2012 All Day

Ninth Annual TurtleFest – Juno Beach, FL (USA)

April 21, 2012 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

As part of the Billion Acts Of Green ©, employees at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center and Loggerhead Park will host musical acts, educational activities, art, shopping, children’s activities and close-up encounters with endangered and threatened sea turtles.  Guests will learn about how different countries are promoting ocean conservation. http://marinelife.org/turtlefest.

Plant Distribution At Hyatt Regency Delhi – New Delhi (India)

April 22, 2012  9:00am to 6:00 pm

Earth Day Celebrations – Ottawa, Ontario (Canada)
