New: Low-Speed Electric Vehicles
We have dozens of models and styles of low-speed electric carts for sale that are legal to operate on roadways and streets where speed limits are regulated for 25 MPH to 35 MPH. Soaring gas prices and well-designed low-speed neighborhoods make owning a LSV a very popular choice for residents living in gated subdivisions, historic urban neighborhoods, assisted living facilities, parks & recreational areas as well as golf course communities. Over two decades ago, Walt Disney developed Celebration, Florida, for exclusive use of electric vehicles in a low-speed environment that connects areas of the Magic Kingdom to shopping, dining and recreational areas. Today, many environmentally-conscious townships encourage the use of street-legal golf carts, electric buses and low-speed utility vehicles for daily living. Federal Standards for LSV Safety
Federal Vehicle Safety Standard 500 was enacted in 1998 to define the government's requirements for four-wheel vehicles with a gross weight of less than 3,000 pounds. Our low speed vehicles incorporate many of the same safety features found in autos, such as safety belts, parking brake, rearview mirrors, headlights, taillights and turn signals. For ease of access, some models of low-speed electric vehicles do not have doors (fully enclosed body work, ADA-equipped ramps & lifts, and other protective equipment available as required). Visit the NHTSA website to learn more about restrictions for the use of LSVs in low-speed neighborhoods and on community roadways.
